A drawing with light for camera --
to illustrate the dynamics of "community -- sketching patterns of role.

• We created this sketch of the "virtual place" through our activities -- manipulating props and lights around installations designating GARDEN, HEARTH and SHELTER.

• We drew lines in the dark with flashlights. We moved tools and found objects around, working our -GARDEN- which yielded a crop of TV's (a glowing crop that displayed close-up images of burning briquettes in a grill).

• In the distance on an elevated stage, large wood-fire grills were lit on which we burned chunks of fat and meat. The smoke and aroma from this -HEARTH- drifted across the landscape as we erected our tent, made from a patchwork of plastic and bubblewrap.

• By the end our -SHELTER- glowed from inside. We enterd our -HOME- and were joined by our viewers, who gathered to share our food.
